André Mulliez, a man with a passion for entrepreneurship!
Andre Mulliez was born in Roubaix on 10 May 1930. After studying at the EDHEC Business School (Lille), he became Chief Legal and Financial Officer of the Association Familiale Mulliez for over 30 years and chaired their Management Board in 1978 and 1979. He was also CEO of Phildar from 1982 to 1985.
As devout Christian, he also paved the way for the development of the regional Catholic press (14 publications in 3 regions, including the Croix du Nord). He was Chairman of the Presse Régionale group and during his tenure changed its ownership structure to that of a non-profit association in 1993. He was also the founding father of the association Chemins d'Humanité.

In 1986, Andre Mulliez created
the association Nord Entreprendre
association (which has since become Reseau Entreprendre Nord). The idea inspired business owners
in other regions of France who soon followed his example. Andre Mulliez served as Chairman
of Reseau Entreprendre until 2001, before being appointed Honorary Life Chairman. On 28
September 2001, he was granted the title of Knight in the National Order of the Légion d'Honneur by the French
Ministry of the Economy, Finance, and Industry.
André Mulliez passed away on 4 July, 2010.
